Expanded Playtest: Legendary Talents and Gish Classes!
about 7 years ago – Sat, Apr 15, 2017 at 12:29:28 AM

The playtest has been going better than I could have hoped, and we just added a bunch of new content to it, including Legendary Talents, and two gish classes (the sage and the troubadour).

As always, please take a look and let us know what you think; player feedback is invaluable, and with your aid we will be able to make this book as good as it can be.

Thank you,
Adam

The Playtest, more Open!
about 7 years ago – Fri, Mar 31, 2017 at 08:34:23 PM

First of all, a quick note; everyone who is getting products that currently exist (Spheres of Power, Player's Guide to Skybourne, etc.) should have gotten their PDFs already. However, backerkit did a hiccup on me in the middle of sending, so there may have been some people who got left out. If you are owed a product in PDF form that currently exists and never got an email from Drivethru RPG to get it, please let me know.

Open Playtest

Thank you to everyone who has posted their thoughts, impressions, and opinions on the playtest documents and in the Drop Dead Studios forum. Your feedback has been and always will be invaluable, and we appreciate it!

The time has come to open the playtest up more publicly. While we still encourage people to consolidate their comments to the doc and to www.dropdeadstudios.com, we will now be posting the playtest links, as well as following conversations, in other forums as well.

Please, continue to let us know what you think about the changes we are making to the rules and the results of any playtests you may be running at home, because it's only when we hear how these rules played at your own home table that we can truly know if what we've created is working.

Thank you,

Adam

Martial Traditions
about 7 years ago – Mon, Mar 27, 2017 at 10:09:56 PM

In response to an issue involving proficiencies and 1 level dips from the playtest, we have come up with an idea that's an important enough change that we wanted to post it here: Martial Traditions!

Just as a magical tradition from Spheres of Power defines how you get your power and what benefits are associated with it, martial traditions detail where your character comes from, and how he learned to fight.

Martial Traditions encompass both the +2 bonus talents gained at 1st level as well as starting proficiencies, which should not only make character creation more concept-based, but also help solve many of the issues regarding level dips that have come up in the playtest, so take a look at the last update and let us know what you think!

There apparently was an issue with our website forum; I just wanted to let you know that the issue has been resolved, and leaving feedback on the Drop Dead Studios forums should be much easier now.
